Resale

The resale program is a convenience for buyers who want to support AgFest youth, but do not want to keep the meat for personal consumption. The Auction committee contracts with a third-party who will purchase animals at market price for later resale. Buyers that choose the resale option pay their bidding price minus the resale amount, which will be published in the Auction catalog.

Rabbits and Turkeys will be SOLD BY THE LOT, there is no Resale.

The chart below is an example of how resale works.

Sheep and Goats are harvested at Superior.
Beef and Swine are harvested at Clausen’s.
Turkeys and Rabbits are harvested at Riella’s in Manteca.

Bidding and Payments

Splitting Bids

Buyers have the option of making a joint bid with other buyers to purchase an animal. We ask that all bids are split ringside when signing your paperwork after purchasing the animal. Please indicate the % share of each buyer.

Paying for your Purchase

Ag Fest does not issue checks to the exhibitors until after payment has been received from the buyer. We will be collecting payment in the Livestock office all day. When you have completed bidding, please allow 30 minutes for paperwork to be processed – after which you can make your payment at the livestock office.

Businesses can request to be billed for their auction purchase(s). If you would like to be billed, please note that on your registration card or complete a Request for Billing Form. To ensure timely payment to the exhibitors, we ask that buyers promptly make payments by June 30th. It is your responsibility as a bidder to be sure that we are sending an invoice to the correct mailing address. If a buyer is submitting for a company and would like us to email a copy for faster processing of the checks, please let us know with the correct email address.

Add-on to a Exhibitors Sale Price

A buyer who would like to assist individual exhibitors without necessarily buying their animals may place an “ADD- ON” on specific exhibitor lots. These monies will be added to the exhibitor auction proceeds. You will need the exhibitor’s lot number which is the same as their sale number in the sale catalog.

You must have a buyer number to make an add-on donation. If you do not have one, be sure to register for one either online or on auction day.

NOTE: Add-ons are subject to the auction commission fee applied to the exhibitor’s auction proceeds.

Ways to Complete an Add-on

  • Complete the online add-on form on the website and pay with a credit card (processing fee applies). The online form will be published as soon as the lot numbers for each exhibitor are available (1 or 2 days after the market shows)

NOTE: Donations under $20.00 will not be accepted online.

  • Complete the paper Add-On Form and submit it at the livestock office on auction day (all payment methods accepted) or mail it with a check payment to: SJJAC P.O. Box 30695 Stockton, CA 95213.

All add-ons must be received by June 30th. Please discuss qualified deductions with your tax accountant.
