RULES AND INFORMATION
  1. The exhibitor must own animal for at least 30 days prior to AgFest.  (See Ownership Requirements for specie date).
  2. Independent exhibitors must submit pictures electronically with exhibitors name in the subject line to agfestlvstck@gmail.com (4 views, face, both sides & back including Exhibitor’s face in pictures with their animal), permanent tag and/or tattoo information no later than 30 days prior to AgFest.  (See Ownership Requirements specie date).
  3. LIMIT – 12 BREEDING ANIMALS PER EXHIBITOR 
  4. All Ear tags and tattoos will be verified at check-in.  
  5. Showmanship followed by Replacement Heifers, followed by Registered All Other Breeds show, followed by the Grade All Other Breeds show, followed by the Holstein/Friesian Registered Show, followed by the Grade Holstein/Friesian show. 
  6. To ensure competition, classes and divisions are subject to change after close of entries. 
  7. Exhibitor entering this Department has read the Junior Livestock – Showmanship Section, and parents, leaders or advisors have reviewed with Exhibitor. 
  8. ALL Exhibitors are to completely clean pens prior to release, and place debris in designated areas.

  1. Young Herd – one bull and two females, all senior   yearlings or younger. 
  2. Get of Sire – three animals get of one sire.  Not more than two can be bulls. Each exhibitor is limited to one entry 
  3. Daughter Dam – One Cow – One of her Daughters (any age) Daughters must be bred by exhibitor. Both must be owned by exhibitor. One entry per exhibitor. 
  4. Produce of Dam – consists of two animals, any age or sex, the product of one cow.  The dam must be identified by registration number. 
  5. Pair of Females – one entry per exhibitor 
  6. Dairy Herd– four cows which must have been freshened at least once and are owned by exhibitor and entered as individuals. Each exhibitor is limited to one entry.

  1. No more than two animals owned by each exhibitor.  Each animal in the group pen competition must have been shown in the breeding classes in the Junior Department.  Quality and uniformity of the animals in the group pen will be emphasized.

RULES AND INFORMATION
  1. The exhibitor must be the owner of the animal by February 1st, 2019 and registered with AgFest by March 15th, 2019. Please mail Replacement Heifer Application, including the heifer pregnancy checked and verification and Bill of Sale, to 1521 Pioneer Street; Escalon, CA 95320. The animal shown must be entered and judged at the San Joaquin AgFest to qualify for sale. 
  2. Independent Exhibitors must also follow Independent Exhibitor Rules
  3. All animals will be bedded on straw.  Rice straw is prohibited. 
  4. As mature springer’s 2-year projects, yearling to show in respective age classes in grade show 
  5. Dairy Replacement Heifers are included in the auction rules.  Exhibitors are allowed to sell only one animal at AgFest
  6. Service sire must be registered and of the same breed as the dam. 
  7. The dam must have no history of cross breeding and have production records. 
  8. Heifers should have been born in June, July & August of the previous year to qualify. 
  9. Heifers must be from a dam that has good type and has met the minimum milk and butterfat production. 
  10. Mature equivalent may be used. 
  11. Bred date may not be prior to October 7.  Heifers that calve prior to arriving at AgFest will not be allowed to show or sell. 
  12. Heifer must be identified by DHIA accepted number or a California Brucellosis ear tag.  A readable vaccination (bangs) tattoo must be present in heifer’s ear when arriving at AgFest, shield is optional. 
  13. All heifers must submit to and pass a vet check. 
  14. If registration information is completed after due dates, a $50.00 penalty will be required to qualify for judging. 
  15. Exhibitor entering this Department has read the Junior Livestock – Showmanship Section, and parents, leaders or advisors have reviewed with Exhibitor. 
  16. ALL Exhibitors are to completely clean pens prior to release, and place debris in designated areas. 
  17. Should the replacement Heifer calf AFTER CHECK-IN BUT PRIOR TO THE REPLACEMENT HEIFER CLASSES, they will not be eligible to exhibit in the classes Divisions 7 & 8 and will not be allowed to sell. They can be moved to the appropriate cow class in the Breeding Division. 
  18. Should the Replacement Heifer calf AFTER THE REPLACEMENT HEIFER CLASSES BUT BEFORE THE SALE, they will be eligible to sell, but they must sell with the calf at the side.

Division 9 – Two-Year Program 

Any exhibitor who participates in a 2-year Replacement Heifer project is entitled to an additional $40.00 Project Premium Award upon selling that heifer at the Replacement Heifer Auction.  All heifers must have been entered, shown and judged each year at AgFest to be eligible for the Project Premium Award.  Two Year Projects must use the standard replacement heifer application form the first year.  In addition, Enter in Division 7 or Division 8 the 2nd year.

  1. Premium – This state this is my 2nd year in the Replacement Heifer project.  Meeting the above criteria, I will receive a $40.00 Project Premium Award.
