Update on livestock auction for AgFest 2021

With the decline in new Covid cases, the governor has announced that the state will be eliminating the tier system (providing cases continue to the trend down or remain stable) and opening up the state for businesses and gathering. With this lessening of restriction, the executive board voted to change the livestock auction scheduled for Saturday, June 19th from an online only auction to a live and simulcast auction. This action should maximize buyer participation by catering to those who prefer to attend live, while still offering an online option for those who prefer to remain remote. With this change, we will no longer be releasing market animals following their shows. Market animals being sold at the livestock auction will remain at the fairgrounds and be sold on Saturday. The replacement heifer sale will also be a live/simulcast event, tentatively scheduled for Saturday, June 12th at 7PM. The overall schedule for AgFest will remain largely the same as currently published, but there may be changes as we adjust the logistics of the show to accommodate this change. We will announce any changes to the schedule as soon as possible.
